If a theology is atheistic, can it help UUs navigate the world? Some UUs are atheists—is their atheism compatible with theology? What could their theologies look like? And why would it matter? DUUC’s Community Minister, the Rev. Dr. Myriam Renaud—a UU academic theologian—will continue last year’s series on UU theologies by offering some answers to these great questions! To do so, she will explore the atheistic theology of the UU theologian and ethicist Sharon Welch, and apply it to a practical example of racial justice. On March 29, her service will explore the atheistic theology of another UU theologian, Anthony Pinn.
