This church has long been a Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA)-certified Welcoming Congregation. DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church is committed to being a safe spiritual haven for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning (LGBTQ) individuals and families.
In 2005 the congregation approved a Statement of Conscience that captured our view on marriage equality at the time in the State of Illinois:
Civil marriage between any two consenting adults is a civil right.
We are happy that our state’s law eventually was replaced by the federal law allowing marriage equality for all.
