In this Time of Waiting

Sunday, November 30, 2025 @ 9 & 11:30am

This Sunday we will honor the Christian roots of both our Unitarian and Universalist ancestors by joining our Christian siblings-in-faith around the globe as they mark the beginning of the season of Advent. We will join them in lighting the first candle on the Advent wreath, and we will explore how Unitarian Universalists can engage with this season of waiting, anticipation, and preparation.

Bio
Heike Eghardt [Phonetics: HIKE-uh EG-hart] (she/they) is a recent graduate of the M.Div. program at Meadville Lombard Theological School and a candidate for ordained ministry in Unitarian Universalism. When Heike is not busy causing “good trouble,” she enjoys cooking and baking, arts and crafts, spending time outdoors and gathering with friends and family.
Heike and her husband have lived and worked in the greater Chicago area for almost three decades. They currently call Evanston, IL their home. However, Heike is a transplant from the Ruhr-Region in Germany where her family of origin still lives. Staying connected to her roots is important to her, and she is always happy to talk about ‘all things German.’
