In-person & Online. Unitarian Universalists use the phrase “Beloved Community” all the time, but what does it really mean? While Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. popularized the phrase, it originated with American philosopher, Josiah Royce, who developed a deep and compelling understanding of Community and how it could be Beloved. Let’s explore what we really mean when we use this phrase and how it impacts how we are together.
